Dr. Sergii Skakun and Dr. Christopher Justice along with collaborators at both Space Research Institute NAS Ukraine and SSA Ukraine and Institute of Physics and Technology, National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (Dr. Nataliia Kussul, Dr. Andrii Shelestov, and Dr. Mykola Lavreniuk) published their work on the use of satellite data to reveal cropland losses under military conflict in Ukraine.

Geography Club National Geographic Museum Trip
Last Saturday, members of the Geography Club took a trip to the National Geographic Museum. Students visited the museum which is currently featuring the exhibition, Women: A Century of Change, focused on women of the world.
ICESat-2 Celebrates One Year on Orbit!
NASA’s ICESat-2 satellite mission was successfully launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, on September 15th, 2018. The spacecraft carries the Advanced Topographic Laser Altimeter System (“ATLAS”) which obtains precise elevation measurements of ice surfaces, vegetation, land, water, and clouds.
