We are delighted to announce that two GEOG Ph.D. students have been selected for the Flagship Fellowship Program: Adebowale Daniel Adebayo and Jiaxun Sun.

The Flagship Fellowships are multi-year enhancement awards to be added to fellowship/assistantship offers made by graduate programs and may total $60,000 per student over the duration of the award. The program helps to recruit outstanding doctoral students to the University of Maryland Graduate School.

"The fellowship holds a profound significance for me, serving as a beacon of support and encouragement to continually strive for excellence in my academic pursuits within Geographical Sciences and its applications to agricultural monitoring and food and water security. Moreover, it represents an invaluable opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, engage in collaborative endeavors, and contribute meaningfully to advancing knowledge."

More importantly, the Graduate School organizes events that allow me to have the opportunity to network with exceptional scientists from other department, interact with each other, and contribute to scientific work together."
