The 2023 Annual Geographical Sciences Awards Ceremony marked a momentous occasion for the Department of Geographical Sciences on May 12 in the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center’s Orem Hall.

Hosted by Undergraduate Director Keith Yearwood, the event brought together students, faculty and staff to celebrate their remarkable achievements during 2022-2023.

With more than 100 individuals being honored, the ceremony recognized a diverse range of accomplishments. From academic milestones to prestigious fellowships and national honors, the event served as a platform to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of those in the Department.

Notably, the Department presented 22 of its own awards during the ceremony. These accolades highlighted outstanding performance, innovative research and significant contributions to the field of geography. Each recipient demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a drive to advance geographical sciences.
