In the episode, Nakalembe draws on her work using satellite imagery, machine learning and other geospatial technologies to monitor drought, flooding and other climate hazards across Sub-Saharan Africa. She discusses both the extraordinary advances these technologies have made possible and a critical limitation: better predictions do not automatically translate into better outcomes for the people facing climate disasters.
