Tay Yi Ting

Bio

Yi Ting Tay is a PHD student in the Geographical Sciences Program at University of Maryland College Park. She graduated with Distinction from MSc Ecological Economics from the University of Leeds and holds a First-Class Honours BSc in Economics and International Economics from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Her master’s thesis examined Malaysia’s transition toward a sustainable electricity sector by 2050, utilizing the Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) modelling framework to evaluate the impact of renewable energy adoption, subsidy reforms and emerging technologies on emission reduction.

Yi Ting served as a Research Assistant with the World Bank Group, supporting the Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment team in Malaysia. Her work focuses on macroeconomics trends and trade policy in Malaysia.
