  • Summer 2026 GEOG Courses Open For Enrollment
A wide-angle, low-level shot shows the iconic "M" garden at the University of Maryland, created with vibrant red flowers on a grassy hill. The floral logo sits under a vast blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds and bright sunlight. In the background, campus buildings and lush green trees frame the scene, capturing a clear and sunny summer day on campus.

Summer is a great time to stay on track, complete Gen Ed requirements or build new skills in geography, GIS and data science.

The Department of Geographical Sciences is offering a wide range of Summer Session I and II courses in 2026, from popular Gen Ed classes to hands-on courses in GIS, Python programming, sustainability and spatial analysis. Whether you're exploring geography for the first time or advancing your geospatial toolkit, there’s a course for you.

Visit Testudo to register and view the full schedule. Questions can be directed to GEOG advisors Byron Marroquin or Robyn Gausman-Burnett at geog-advise@umd.edu.
