A recent article from National Geographic details how convicted wildlife traffickers in Oregon have been sentenced to study wildlife crime with GEOG Associate Professor Meredith Gore. The novel sentencing tactic, which requires offenders to attend weekly Zoom sessions with Gore, aims to help offenders understand and make amends for their crimes, and could potentially inform wildlife trafficking policy and prevention efforts.
