Geographical Sciences at UMD Seeks Associate Professor in Remote Sensing
The Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park, invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor in Remote Sensing.
This position will have its tenure home in the Department of Geographical Sciences and is expected to start in July 2025. The associate professor will be a member of our Center for Remote Sensing Excellence, which is part of our International Center for Innovation in Geospatial Analytics and Earth Observation (International GEO Center).
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a robust, externally funded research program; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in remote sensing; supporting, mentoring and supervising; graduate students; and engaging in interdisciplinary research and collaboration across the Department (human dimensions, GIS, physical geography) and campus that address significant real-world issues.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Geography or a related discipline and be committed to excellence in research and teaching, with a very strong record of scholarly products and external funding.
