Geographical Sciences at UMD Seeks Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Physical Geography
The Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park, is seeking a highly motivated and talented physical geographer specializing in coastal processes and ecosystems.
This is a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position will have its tenure home in Geographical Sciences and is expected to start in July 2025. Salary and benefits are highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a robust, externally funded research program; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in physical geography, coastal processes, modeling, and related subjects; leading GEOG's undergraduate Coastal Specialization with Environmental Science and Policy (ENSP) major; and more.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in in Geography, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field.
