Joining the world’s top 1% of scientists for citations and research influence

Eight Geographical Sciences researchers have been recognized as 2025 Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate, joining an elite group representing just 1 in 1,000 scientists and social scientists worldwide.

Highly Cited Researchers are acknowledged for their significant and broad influence in their fields. Each has authored multiple papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and year in the Web of Science Core Collection over the past eleven years. Selection is based not only on citation metrics but also on other quantitative indicators, qualitative analysis and expert judgment.
