Bio
I am an Assistant Research Professor in Professor Laura Duncanson's lab in the Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland (UMD). My research focuses on applying remote sensing, machine learning, and geospatial data science to quantify forest structure and aboveground biomass dynamics across boreal forests. I develop methods that fuse spaceborne lidar, optical, and SAR observations to produce annual maps of canopy height and biomass in high northern latitudes. My recent work investigates wildfire-induced biomass change in Alaska, with an emphasis on developing accurate and robust methods for monitoring post-fire carbon dynamics using multi-sensor Earth observation data.
Prior to joining the UMD, I worked as a Data Scientist at Regrow Ag, a climate technology company developing measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems that leverage Earth observation and machine learning to support sustainable agricultural practices and carbon programs worldwide.
