Wood, Anna
Bio
Anna Wood joined the GEOG/UMD grant team in June 2024, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in research administration. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (2006) and a Master’s degree in Microbiology and Fermentation Engineering from the Capital Normal University in Beijing, China (1999).
Since 1996, Wood has authored more than 50 scientific publications and conference proceedings in the areas of nutrition, public health, microbiology, and enzymatic engineering. She earned the Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential in 2017 and has extensive experience managing grants and contracts from a wide range of government agencies and private foundations.
Her previous roles include positions at the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and several other higher education institutions. Wood currently works remotely from North Carolina.
