Graham, Jannitta Maria

Bio

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., and the DMV area, Jannitta joined the University of Maryland in 2015, working as a Graduate Coordinator in the HDQM/COE department. She previously worked for the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) program, as an Outreach Coordinator role established in 1999, which is a 1.6 billion dollar initiative funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Currently, Jannitta is attending UMGC where she plans to complete her BS in Business Administration (spring 2025). Early in her career, she worked for the Graduate School, USDA a government training institute where she served as a Program Assistant in financial management and was later promoted to a program specialist where she managed long and short-term leadership programs for: Executive Leader, New Leader, and Aspiring Leader training programs working with GS employees from entry to mid-level graded positions grades 5-14. Jannitta has extensive knowledge of graduate advising, UMD APT, and AEP process and joins the Geographical Sciences Dec 2024, with a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. 

 

Hobbies/Interests

Jannitta enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her eight nieces and nephews. Traveling is also something I've been doing more these days. Exploring new places has brought a whole new appreciation to life. I also love attending concerts and watching old 1950s, and 60s classic movies.
