Chen, Xiangjie
Bio
Xiangjie Chen (陈湘杰) received his Ph.D. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland in 2025 and is now a postdoctoral associate in the department. His work lies at the intersection of economics, geography, and agricultural sciences. His research focuses on climate policies required for just transition, sustainable and resilient agricultural systems, and the environmental and social impacts of consumption, with a methodological emphasis on input–output analysis and integrated assessment modelling. He has published in Nature, One Earth, Field Crops Research, and other leading journals, and his earlier work was extensively covered in the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (WG III, Chapter 2). He also serves on the Student Chapter Board of the International Society for Industrial Ecology (ISIE).
