Bredder, Allison

Bio

Hi, I’m Allison Bredder. I am a geographer and environmental health researcher dedicated to understanding how our changing planet impacts human lives and livelihoods.

Currently, I serve as the Strategic Engagement Officer for NASA Acres (NASA's U.S. agriculture consortium). My work focuses on ensuring that advanced satellite data provides tangible value to American farmers and rural communities. Whether I'm collaborating with researchers, supporting workforce readiness initiatives, or engaging directly with producers, I act as the bridge between cutting-edge space science and real-world agricultural resilience.

I completed my PhD in Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland. My academic research sits at the intersection of data science and epidemiology, using remote sensing and machine learning to track the health impacts of wildfire smoke. Across all my work, from public health to agriculture, my passion lies in science communication, data visualization, and turning complex spatial data into insights people can use.

I'm a proud double-Terp, having also completed my B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy (GIS minor) at UMD.
