     |  Natural Resource Planner, Chesapeake and Coastal Service of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources:  Rachel obtained a BS in Environmental Science and Policy with a focus in Wildlife Ecology and Management from University of Maryland (UMD) in 2010.  She then received a Master's Certificate in Geospatial Information Science (GIS) and a Master's Degree in Physical Geography from the Department of Geographical Sciences in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Her educational and professional background has focused on a combination of GIS, remote sensing, wildlife and forest ecology, and ecological modeling. Since 2016, she has worked as a Natural Resource Planner with the Chesapeake and Coastal Service of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.  She uses her specialization in ecology, geospatial analysis, and ecological modeling to create statewide spatial data, web maps, and interactive web-based decision support tools for use by state, federal, non-profit, and private conservation and restoration partners in natural resource management, project funding, and policy creation.
