Joint UMD and LU Workshop "Advancing methods for multi-temporal satellite and in-situ data analysis"
Department of Geographical Sciences will be hosting the second bi-lateral workshop between University of Maryland and Lund University (Sweden) "Advancing methods for multi-temporal satellite and in-situ data analysis" on May 1-2, 2017 at Hartwick building. The first workshop from the series took place in Lund on February 27-28, 2017. The workshops are funded by the UMD/LU Joint Research Workshop grant program aimed to support joint research collaborations.
Some of the topics that will be discussed during the coming workshop are:
- Satellite-based mapping of forests, croplands, settlements, surface water, and other types of land cover and land use;
- Monitoring vegetation phenology and productivity using time-series of satellite data;
- Modeling of bioshpere-atmoshpere gas exchange and carbon dynamics;
- Forest mapping in support of conservation monitoring.
