GEOG Seminar 9/28: Chaowei Yang, "Advancing Spatiotemporal Computing to Enable Solutions for Pressing Challenges"
Join us for our weekly seminar this Thursday, Sept. 28 from 3:45-5pm at River Road and via Zoom! Professor Chaowei Yang at George Mason University will discuss innovative solutions in spatiotemporal computing for climate change and public health.
Our world evolves in space time dimensions. Most challenges have footprints in this spatiotemporal context. Understanding the spatiotemporal patterns and principles will help us come up with innovative solutions to address a multitude of challenges, prominently encompassing climate change and public health concerns. The NSF Spatiotemporal Innovation Center, a strategic investment facilitated by the National Science Foundation I/UCRC was established to investigate such solutions.
In this seminar, Professor Chaowei Yang will provide a comprehensive introduction to the infrastructure, methods, processes, and solutions for various applications including the pandemic, flooding, air quality, and other pressing challenges.
