GEOG Seminar 2/29: Kun Li, "Response of Ecosystem Services to Landscape Patterns Under Socio-Economic-Natural Factor Zoning: A Case Study of Hubei Province, China"
About the Speaker:
Dr. Kun Li is an associate professor at Hubei University and a visiting scholar at the University of Florida. Dr. Li’s research focuses on the impact of landscape pattern changes on ecosystem services.
About the Seminar:
Unbalanced distributions of natural resources and socioeconomic development have significantly influenced regional and global ecological environments. Optimizing landscape patterns is crucial for improving regional ecological conditions and enhancing ecosystem service (ES) capacities. In this seminar, Dr. Li will explore the trade-off and synergistic relationship between ESs in areas with imbalanced natural resources and socioeconomic development, and the influence of landscape patterns on ESs in Hubei Province. The study aims to:
1) Divide Hubei Province into different sub-regions based on socioeconomic and natural factors.
2) Quantify four representative ESs and analyze their interactions at two scales.
3) Clarify the influence of landscape patterns on ESs at two scales and across different sub-regions.
