Career Development Talk: Geospatial Intelligence, USGIF and You

When: 3 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 14

The Center for Geospatial Information Science (CGIS) presents a talk by Ronda Schrenk, CEO of the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). Join us to learn about GEOINT as a discipline and career possibilities available within the field.

High Student Open House

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 20, GIS Day

Live Demo of McKeldin Library Wayfinding Map Application: ArcGIS Indoors

When: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m  Nov. 20, GIS Day
Where: McKeldin 4123
Attendees can experience the ArcGIS Indoors system on pilot floors (1st, 2nd, and 4th) and learn how indoor mapping improves locational awareness, visitor convenience and accessibility. The event is organized by GIS and Data Service Center, and Campus Enterprise GIS. Register here

GIS Day Alumni Spotlight: Max Cushner

When: 12-1 p.m. on Nov. 20, GIS Day
Where: LeFrak Hall 1169, also on Zoom
Max Cushner, GIS Solutions Engineer at Electric Power Engineers, will talk about his career path and achievements. He will also share lessons and good practices he has learned while working in the industry. 

The University of Maryland Campus Map

When: 3:00–3:50 pm, Nov. 20, GIS Day
Where: LeFrak Hall 1158
Taylor Keen, enterprise GIS manager for the University of Maryland and team lead for the Campus Map, will give a presentation for GEOG undergraduate students about UMD's campus map and the GIS efforts relating to acquiring data for the map and visualizing different features and services on the map.
