GEOG Researchers Dr. George Hurtt and Dr. Louise Chini, along with colleague Dr. Peter Thornton at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, were awarded a 3-year Department of Energy grant to support E3SM Land Model (ELM) for managed disturbances and time-since-disturbance. Drs. Hurtt and Chini, who created and published the LUH2 datasets, will provide their expertise related to the historical and future scenario land use and land cover change trajectories, specifically the E3SM default LUH2 datasets and associated dataset generation algorithms.
