The Department of Geographical Sciences bids farewell to visiting Research Associate, Zhen Song. Zhen's primary interest focuses on the human impact on earth's energy budget. She has taken the Three Gorges Project as an example and explored its impact on local climate. She is currently working on estimating the global radiation energy budget based on long term record satellite data. Her areas of interest include quantitative remote sensing, the radiation energy budget of Earth, and the human impact on climage change. Zhen earned her BA in Geographical Information Systems and her Masters in Remote Sensing from Wuhan University. She has spent the last 3 years at The University of Maryland furthering her research and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!
