Every year, Clarivate creates a list of influential researchers from around the world. These researchers have been the most frequently cited in their fields in the past decade, producing multiple papers ranking the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science. In 2022, only 0.1% of the world’s researchers received this recognition. Those on the list span a variety of research fields and disciplines, contributing to innovations in science, social science and citation analysis.
University-wide, 24 researchers were recognized with primary affiliation of the University of Maryland, College Park, including four from the Department of Geographical Sciences.
