On May 12th, 2017 at the Geographical Sciences Awards Luncheon, Masters of Professional Studies in Geospatial Information Science student Alysha Heckman was presented with the Outstanding MPSGIS Student Award for the 2016-2017 academic year. The award was presented by Director of MPSGIS, Dr. Jack Ma. 

Alysha was chosen for this award based on her outstanding performance in the MPSGIS program. Alysha has a long history of winning awards - including the Anderson Award when she was an undergraduate in our department, as well as Student of the Month! Alysha graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2014 with dual degrees in Geographic Information Science and Anthropology. She graduated with her MPS degree this Spring 2017.
