2024 Application fee may be WAIVED for first 20 qualified International or US military veteran applicants who apply for:

Spring 2024 admission:

• By December 1, 2023 (International applicants can only apply for online format for Spring term)

Fall 2024 admission:

• By February 1, 2024 

How to request waiver:

• Start your application
• Complete and upload all required information & documents. Send both requests for letters of recommendations
• At least one letter of recommendation must be received prior to requesting a waiver.
• Save application but do not submit
• Email geog-gis [at] umd.edu to request an application waiver. Please provide:
  • First and Last Name
  • Targeted Term of enrollment
  • Application ID
  • International or military veteran
• If granted (please allow up to one week for review), a waiver code will be emailed to the applicant to use on the application payment page.
• This code will be valid for 14 days after issuance.
