Faculty Specialist and doctoral candidate at Department of Geographical Sciences at University of Maryland. Formerly, worked as a Remote Sensing and GIS Expert at Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre, Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi, where she worked on agriculture monitoring, drought assessment and crop Insurance using combination of microwave and optical satellite data and in-situ ground data. She also served North Eastern Space Application Centre, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) as a Research Scientist where she worked with different projects of disaster risk reduction specifically damages caused to agriculture. At NESAC, she worked with high-resolution unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imageries for precision farming and disaster mitigation. She developed the Google Earth Engine code for time series analysis of river islands, national park, river dynamics studies and study of fisheries. She accomplished one-year internship from Center for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Bengaluru (India), where her research was focused on study of different classification and dimension reduction techniques for classification of Hyperspectral Imageries. She has traveled pan India for studies and fieldwork. She loves traveling and exploring new places, which she believes, helps to get the creative thoughts, gets you the real life education, and hence broadens the horizons.
