Marie is a dual BS/MS student within the Geographical Sciences department graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy and a minor in Remote Sensing of Environmental Change. She is also a part of the ENSP Honors Program, where she is writing an undergraduate thesis under the guidance of Dr. George Hurtt investigating the climate change preparedness of terrestrial protected areas in MD using quantitative and qualitative methodology. 

She has also been an undergraduate researcher on the Campus Forest Carbon project since 2021, leveraging NASA Carbon Monitoring System science to include forest carbon estimates within the University of Maryland's Climate Action Plan. She is on track to begin leading the team as a graduate research assistant for the remainder of her graduate education. 

Since Spring 2022, Marie has also been working as the front desk assistant within the department.
