Dr. Leila De Floriani inducted into the IEEE Visualization Academy

Satellite around the world

The IEEE Visualization Academy is considered the highest and most prestigious honors in the field of computer visualization. Launched in 2019 by the IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee, the “ViS Academy” as it’s often called, acknowledges research leaders in the field of visualization that indirectly underscore the accomplishments of the entire field.

VIS Academy members are expected to provide technical leadership, offer mentoring to colleagues who are in the early stages of their careers, and volunteer other services related to the advancement of the visualization community as a whole.

Leila De Floriani joins 13 other researchers from around the world who were named to this year’s cohort of Vis Academy honorees. This distinguished group was officially recognized in October at the online IEEE VIS2020 conference.
