Jeffrey G. Masek

Adjunct Associate Professor

Dr. Masek is a Research Scientist in the Biospheric Sciences Branch at NASA GSFC. His research interests include mapping land-cover change in temperate environments, application of advanced computing to remote sensing, and satellite remote sensing techniques. He has recently been involved in several projects quantifying forest disturbance across North America using time-series satellite data, and serves as a co-Investigator on the NASA Carbon Monitoring System Project and as the NASA Landsat Project Scientist. Prior to coming to NASA GSFC in 2001, he held research positions at the University of Maryland, and Hughes Information Systems. Dr. Masek received a B.A. in Geology from Haverford College (1989) and a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Cornell University (1994).
