Assistant Research Professor
John received the B.Sc. degree in biology from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, in 2001. He has since worked for the Queensland Government as a remote sensing scientist, concurrently receiving the B.Sc. (Hons I 2004) and Ph.D. (2013) degrees in geography from the University of Queensland, Australia. His research has been focused on quantitative measurement and mapping of forest and woodland structure, and the development of validated satellite mapping products over large areas to support Government environmental monitoring programs. John joined the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) science team in April 2016.
